I Didn’t Realize I Had Magically Become 17 Again

… like Halley’s Comet, but with a shorter period, does this lineup just come round to play every 20 years or something? [Confidential to all bands referenced herein, I still love all 3 of you after all these years. Some more than others though.]

Too Bad Galaxy. Posh is Probably So Done with LA Anyway.

Wow. Now this is liquid net worth:

“The deal follows weeks of negotiations between the two clubs during which Milan baulked at the size of the transfer fee Galaxy were demanding – thought to be around £12m.

Beckham’s desire to play for a top club in order to cement his place in the England squad for the 2010 World Cup finals led to him effectively funding the unique loan deal himself.”

Nostalgic? Want to Return to the Simplicity of a Bygone Era?

Lo, rejoice, for such a place exists: the reweaving shop in my neighborhood. [Paradoxically, however, they were on the ball enough a while ago to claim the URL reweave.com? You go, Phyllis.] No credit cards, inconvenient hours, smoky interior, high prices, long waits… but I guess decades of fixing holey sweaters can’t be argued with. As I waited and waited yesterday, I noticed the “TOYS” nook – labeled, slightly menacingly, with a sign nailed for all eternity to the tiny indestructible table: “TOYS” (natch). And, below, probably most accessible to small people’s hands, a garbage can. Awesome.
